Cedar Mill Farmers Market offers local farmers and artisan offerings, and more
Saturdays, 9-2 pm, corner of NW Cornell & Murray Roads
Thanks to all of you, our Cedar Mill Farmers Market is a beloved local weekly event where neighbors and friends gather to enjoy the best of what our local farmers and artisans have to offer. This market is a vibrant hub of activity, featuring a wide array of fresh, seasonal produce, handmade crafts, amazing hot food, and delicious homemade treats.

In July, our market is bursting with the flavors of summer. You’ll find juicy strawberries, sweet cherries, crisp lettuce, and tender summer squash, all freshly harvested from nearby farms. Local bakers bring their finest, while artisans showcase unique handmade goods.
But our farmers’ market is more than just a place to shop. It’s a community gathering spot where you can catch up with friends, enjoy live music from local bands, and let the kids have fun at our Power of Produce Booth. Many of our vendors are happy to share their knowledge about sustainable farming practices and offer tips on how to cook and enjoy their products, so please ask them!
Whether you’re looking for fresh ingredients for your next meal, a unique gift, or just a pleasant way to spend a Saturday morning, our community’s Farmers Market has something for everyone.
Questions? Just stop by the Information Booth at the market, or email us at ourcmfm@gmail.com. See you at the market!
Badger Tree Service passes the saw
Badger Tree Service is climbing down from the trees after 40+ years of service, be we don’t want to leave our customers hanging! We are passing the saw to award-winning company, Urban Timber Tree Service. Their team shares our passion for tree care, as well as our commitment to excellent service. Check out their website! We are confident you will be in good hands with Jeremy and his team.
It has been our honor to care for your trees, and a true pleasure serving you, some for over 20 years. We truly appreciate your loyalty and support of our family business (and your patience when we got behind).

Protect your home while on vacation
You’ve packed up your suitcase and booked your trip, but before you board the plane, take the time to protect your home while you’re on vacation. July and August are popular vacation months, and not surprisingly, they’re also the months when the most home burglaries are reported.
To fully enjoy your trip, plan appropriate home security and maintenance with this checklist.
Set timers on interior lights. This goes a long way in deterring burglars, who often look for crimes of opportunity. Don’t allow your house to appear as if no one is home.
Power surges: You never know when a power surge may occur, so be prepared. Disconnect the computer, TV, stereo and other electronics, or make sure they are plugged safely into a surge protector.
Don’t make or socialize status updates. Never broadcast your location on social media. Even if you think that it’s only your friends or colleagues viewing your online profiles, it’s safest not to leave any sort of opening for a possible burglar.
Check doors and windows. This one might seem like a no-brainer, but according to the National Police Association, 32% of burglaries are because homeowners have left their main door or windows unlocked.
Stop newspapers and mail. Stop mail and newspaper deliveries, or have them regularly picked up by a neighbor. You don’t want to easily clue in a burglar to your absence by the mounting newspapers on your doorstep.
If you’re going on a month-long vacation, make sure your yard is being maintained to appear as if you are still at home. An unmaintained front yard is a red flag for your home’s security and a sign for burglars indicating that your home is empty. Also, move anything of value indoors away from being seen outside. This is one of the best safety precautions to leave your house when on vacation.
Sunset Credit Union is open to anyone who lives, works, worships or attends school in Washington County. To learn more, stop by our office at 1100 NW Murray Blvd., visit our website, or contact us at 503-643-1335.

New college counseling practice opens in Cedar Mill
I am Tracy Muilenburg, Muilenburg College Counseling. As a longtime school counselor, I’ve guided hundreds of students through the winding, often stressful path to college and I’ve seen how empowering it can be when students feel truly supported. With the right guidance, the college application process can become an opportunity for self-discovery and a confident step toward the future.
With over 24 years of experience in public, private, and international schools, I offer student-centered, personalized college advising that meets each family where they are. My approach is rooted in the belief that the college search is more than a checklist, it’s a time for growth, reflection, and meaningful exploration.
I specialize in helping students find the right-fit college by considering academic, social, and financial factors, whether they’re applying to U.S. universities or exploring international options. As a practicing school counselor in the Beaverton School District, I bring a deep understanding of adolescent development and family dynamics to my work. I also prioritize equity, access, and ethical guidance, following the NACAC Guide to Ethical Practice.
Families can choose from a variety of flexible packages, from one-on-one essay coaching and college list development to comprehensive guidance throughout junior and senior years. I also offer early career exploration for younger students and can tailor services to meet individual needs.
If your student is feeling overwhelmed or uncertain about the college process, I’d love to help bring clarity, calm, and confidence to the journey. To learn more or schedule a free introductory meeting, visit www.muilenburgcc.com or contact me at tracy@muilenburgcc.com or (971) 226‑3406.
