E-motos are not permitted on any THPRD properties at any time. A joint education program with law enforcement and the Beaverton School District to address safety concerns will be conducted throughout the summer and will be followed by enforcement actions.
Bonny Slope Park playground replacement
11100 NW Thompson Rd

THPRD is replacing the playground at Bonny Slope Park with nature themed play structures that help connect people to nature in a variety of ways. This project will replace the existing dated equipment while improving stormwater management and paths leading to play areas. (Unbeknownst to many is that in 1995 Tualatin Valley Water District built two reservoirs beneath the sports fields of the park.)
Community involvement is a vital part of our park planning and design. THPRD will work with community members to ensure that design and amenities reflect public needs. To stay up to date on news about this park project, sign up for email updates.
The new playground is anticipated to open spring 2027. Community engagement will gather input from neighbors from August-October 2026. Design and construction planning begins in November, with construction planned to start this winter. This project is funded through the 2019 Metro Parks and Nature bond measure.

Financial Aid Program
THPRD’s Financial Aid Program is a core program and is part of our commitment to the community to provide access to those that qualify and live within district boundaries. To maintain this program with the defined amount of funding available each fiscal year, and considering community needs, we are making several changes to support equitable distribution of funds.
Funding will be released each registration term. Funds remain available until fully distributed and if funds are no longer available, eligible households may access support during the next registration term.
Households will need to apply to be eligible to THPRD’s Financial Aid Program, applications will be received year-round. Households who qualify will remain eligible to use financial aid funds for 12 months after the date eligibility was approved. Once eligibility is approved, households can use their financial aid household funding limit to register for THPRD programs. Funds are made available starting on Registration Day for Fall, Winter, Spring and Summer. Funds remain available and can be used until they are fully distributed. If funds are fully utilized for the term, eligible households may use their funds on the next registration term.
Visit the Financial Aid Program page for upcoming registration dates and steps on how to apply and how to use funds.
New Financial Aid Text Service! Text the word “financialaid” to 833-340-0174 to receive the latest information about the program and district happenings.
