Task force votes to replace 2008 bond measure
In December, a community-led volunteer task force presented their recommendation to the THPRD Board of Directors that the district should replace a retiring 2008 bond measure in 2026. The proposed bond measure would be a renewal of the 2008 bond, and would fund repairs, maintenance, and safety improvements at parks, trails, and facilities. The renewal measure would be timed to go into effect as the 2008 measure retires. Taxpayers would continue to pay close to the same tax rate they do today, estimated to be $0.37 cents per $1,000 in assessed property value. The THPRD Board will vote at their January meeting whether to forward the bond measure to voters for the May 2026 primary election.

We are dedicated and hold ourselves accountable to being a welcoming and inclusive organization that lives our values by advancing equity, inclusion, fairness, belonging, and respect for all. As stewards of public lands and spaces, we are committed to keeping these spaces safe, accessible, and bringing people together.
