For our last meeting, we are once again hosting a candidate forum so our neighbors can meet and make decisions about candidates wanting to represent us. We will also have a presentation from THPRD about their Bond Measure.

  • County Commissioner at-large (chair): Pam Treece and Nafisa Fai
  • County Commissioner District 2: Blayne Soleymani-Pearson and Felicita Monteblanco
  • Metro District 4: Alex Phan and Miles Palacios
  • Oregon House District 27: Tammy Carpenter and Ashley Hartmeier Prigg
  • Oregon House District 34: Mari Watanabe
  • Oregon State Senate: Lisa Reynolds
  • THPRD Bond Measure

We have confirmed participation from everyone except the District 34 and State Senate candidates at press time. There will be time for each candidate to make a statement focused on their view of issues and solutions for our area, and probably time for one or two questions each. If you’d like to submit questions in advance, send them to cpo1leaders@gmail.com.

This will all be on your ballot for the May 19 election. Normally we’d host such a forum closer to the election, but as we have mentioned, this is the final meeting of CPO 1. Washington County is in the process of developing an alternative program that will focus on county programs and will be led by county staff. More information from the county is here.

We plan to continue our CPO 1 Facebook page and we’ll share any local development and other news we are able to get. If you’re not a member, you can sign up when you visit. We don’t know what will happen with the large email list of people who currently get updates from the CPO system but we likely won’t have any access to it. It’s unclear if we will continue to get development materials, but anyone can sign up for LUT News that is published weekly and has Neighborhood Meetings and other information.

THPRD staff will join us to present information about the Local Option Levy on the May 21, 2026 ballot; time will be available for Q & A.  THPRD will also provide an update on their plans for the Westside Trail segment between Jenkins Road and Kaiser Road, including a bike/pedestrian bridge over Highway 26. A survey hosted by THPRD is currently open for community input into this trail segment:

The site is in the Transit Oriented Residential District, 9-12 units/acre max, and is located at 13324/13330 NW Glenridge Drive. It is being proposed by a group of parents as a supportive living community for their adult children with Intellectual Developmental Disability (IDD) diagnosis. There will be 18 living units and a common house with dining and recreational amenities. Most residents won’t drive but there will be light traffic from therapists and other support people.
