Footloose is a musical stage adaptation of the 1984 film, with music by Tom Snow, and lyrics by Dean Pitchford, featuring songs from the movie and new numbers. It tells the story of Ren McCormack, a Chicago teen who moves to a small town where dancing is banned, as he challenges the local pastor and community to overturn the law, leading to romance and healing.

For two weeks only, the talented students of Westview High School present the classic musical about a pair of Americans who stumble upon a Scottish village that appears once every 100 years. Advance tickets available here. Tickets also available at the door.

With National Public Health Week fast approaching, Washington County Public Health invites local young artists to showcase their creativity through the division’s 2026 Youth Art Contest. The contest’s theme, “How Public Health impacts my community,” encourages youth to learn about and celebrate public health’s role in our day-to-day lives. Washington County youth ages 10 to 20 may enter the contest by submitting digital art, crafts, sculpture, poetry, song, spoken word, drawing, painting, or video. To qualify, your art must describe or visualize how public health shows up in our homes, neighborhoods, or larger community. Submissions are due Friday, March 13 at 10 pm, and winners receive prizes of $100-300! You can find contest rules, lesson materials, and instructions for submitting your entry digitally online.

Join Beaverton Community Band for our winter concert featuring the music of Earle Hagen, Jasmine Pigott, Aaron Copland, Sammy Nestico, and more! Nestico was a major American arranger and composer whose career included arranging for the U.S. Air Force Band, the U.S. Marine Band, and Count Basie. His setting of the Marines’ Hymn presents the tune as an “apotheosis,” beginning with a powerful introduction and a brief reference to Taps before building into a dramatic, exalted climax. Other works to be performed include Hagen’s Harlem Nocturne and Copland’s Fanfare for the Common Man. Tickets are available at the door, or reserve in advance at beavertoncommunityband.org. Children ages 10 and younger are free.
