Oregon electric vehicle rebate program opens again
Oregonians planning to buy or lease an electric vehicle before November 4 can get thousands of dollars from the state to help pay for it. Officials at the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality reopened the Clean Vehicle Rebate Program, which offers rebates of $1,500 to $7,500 on the purchase or lease of an eligible electric vehicle or plug-in hybrid electric vehicle, depending on income. Motorcyclists through the program can get up to $375 back on the purchase of an electric motorcycle. To learn more and see if you qualify, visit the Charge Ahead website.

No Place To Grow Old

You are invited to a screening of No Place to Grow Old at Christ United Methodist Church. The film, set in downtown Portland, is a poignant documentary following the lives of three older adults navigating the harsh realities of life without a home. Through their stories of hardship and resilience, the film offers an intimate portrayal of the challenges they face, while also shining a light on the systemic issues contributing to their plight.
Golden Rainbow Haven, a Washington County-based nonprofit organization that works to help provide affordable, safe, and inclusive housing for LGBTQ+ seniors, is sponsoring the event. Following the screening, a panel of local experts including the film’s executive producer will discuss the realities and challenges of finding and providing safe, affordable housing in our community. Refreshments and childcare will be provided. A silent auction will benefit Golden Rainbow Haven. For more information, contact Robin Ferguson.
