Join Tualatin Hills Park & Recreation District (THPRD) for an in-person community meeting to learn and share feedback on the proposed concept plan for the Westside Trail segments between NW 158th & Walker Road to NW Kaiser Road (segments 14, 16-18). The route includes a proposed pedestrian bridge over US 26 (Sunset Highway) to connect trail walkers, cyclists, students, and employees between the neighborhoods. View the trail map here.

The current phase of the project focuses on completing a feasibility study and public engagement to begin designing the trail segments. The future trail segments and bridge project, to date, are funded by a combination of THPRD’s system development charge fund, Metro’s 2019 Parks and Nature Bond fund, Metro’s Regional Flexible fund, the Oregon Community Paths Program grant, and the Washington County Major Streets Transportation Improvement Program (MSTIP) Opportunity fund. With adequate grant funding, THPRD anticipates construction of the bridge by 2030.

Light refreshments provided. Please visit the event page for more details. Click here to sign-up for project updates.

saqsaqa site

This project will develop approximately two acres into a nature-based park along an established wetland habitat and connect the North Bethany Creek Trail from 160th to NW Shackelford Rd. (Pronounced sahk/sahk/a, this is the Arabic onomatopoeia for the “chirp chirp” sound that birds make.)

saqsaqa plans

THPRD bid the park improvements for construction in early 2026 and received four bids from qualified contractors. Construction is anticipated to begin in June with completion anticipated Fall 2026. For more information and updates, view the project page.

The project page includes concept plans for the park.

Do you have a background in finance or auditing? THPRD is seeking an auditing committee member who represents the broad perspectives of the district’s patrons. The committee meets twice a year to select the district’s auditing firm, reviews the annual audit plan, monitors progress and compliance with the audit process, and helps with the annual audit report presented to the Board of Directors. People of all backgrounds and experience levels are encouraged to apply by June 19 at the audit committee website.
